A tradition of quality since 1857

These past and current projects are typical of the work we do.

17/18 Market Place, Sleaford, Lincolnshire

A Grade II Listed building, which has been vacant and derelict for many years.

We have stabilized the structure by carrying out emergency repair works and re-roofing the main areas.

This is an ongoing project.

Beaumont Court, Lincoln

Originally built as a Victorian ladies’ seminary, we restored and refurbished the building to provide attractive residential accommodation in the heart of Lincoln.

32 Southgate, Sleaford, Lincolnshire

A Grade II Listed building (formerly the Old White Hart Hotel) centrally located in Sleaford. Carefully restored, with special attention to the restoration and preservation of the gypsum plaster floors and the stabilization and restoration of the original laths and lime plaster work. The outbuildings to the rear were converted to form retail units on the ground floor, with flats on the first floor. Unique, purpose-made secondary glazing units give the benefit of triple-glazing, whilst retaining the aesthetics of traditional horizontal sashes.

The White Hart, Spalding, Lincolnshire

A Grade II* Listed building occupying a prominent position in the Market Place. Parts of the building are believed to date from the 15th century, although an inn of the same name stood on the site as far back as 1377.
Notable visitors include Mary, Queen of Scots (reputedly), Lord Torrington and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
We worked closely with English Heritage and South Holland District Council to ensure that as many of the interesting medieval and Georgian historic features of the original structure could be retained to provide an aesthetically pleasing building, but one that was also practical and adaptable to meet the needs of a changing retail market.

Market Place, Grantham, Lincolnshire

A Grade II Listed building in the heart of the town. A systemic refurbishment and restoration, involving delicate negotiations with the individual tenants, allowed us to provide three upper floors of offices, together with two units on the ground floor, forming a wine bar and a retail unit. Careful refurbishment of the cellars allowed us to bring these into use as part of the wine bar and they now make a unique and interesting feature of this business. Other works included the restoration of the stone parapet, the installation of a lift for the office suites and the replacement of the roof to include a high level of insulation.

Mill Court, Sleaford, Lincolnshire

Formerly a grain warehouse and associated office space within the town centre conservation area, we converted and restored the property to provide several retail units, together with a bar and restaurant. The scheme involved the reclamation of part of the Slea Navigation Cut and sympathetic restoration to retain an interesting and very attractive roof structure, now visible from within the restaurant.

Carre Street, Sleaford, Lincolnshire

One of our first projects was a range of town-centre offices and retail units, one being our own offices, which we have used as a test bed for various lime mortar and traditional repairs for over 30 years. Interesting features have been retained and careful detailing with extensive insulation provide pleasant business units within the town.
